A man was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after a car crashed into a gas station garage.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. near the corner of El Camino Real and Encina in Santa Margarita.

KSBY's crew at the scene says a man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and a worker at the gas station had some scrapes.

KSBY had previously been told that the man taken to the hospital was the driver, but an aquaintance of his says he was inside the store when the car came crashing through and was not driving.

No word on what caused the crash or the extent of any other injuries.
