KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lompoc native Danny Duffy labored through his MLB start against the Seattle Mariners on Monday.
Duffy allowed just a single earned run, but threw nearly 100 pitches on the afternoon and was pulled after just 3 2/3 innings of work.
The left-hander, who replaced Wade Davis in Kansas City's rotation last week, finished with four strikeouts on the day.
Duffy left with the Royals trailing 1-0, but didn't factor in the decision in Kansas City's 3-1 come-from-behind victory over the Mariners.
