Duffy gives up four runs in Minor League start

Central Coast native Danny Duffy made his ninth minor league appearance of the season and fifth start for Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Duffy pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing four runs on six hits, including a two-run homer in the sixth. He threw 83 pitches, 55 for strikes, while recording four strikeouts and no walks.

Duffy is recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made three starts at Double-A and has now made six appearances for Omaha at Triple-A. He is 2-0 with a 5.88 ERA with Omaha, he has 25 strikeouts and 11 walks in 26 innings.

Duffy is trying to work his way back to the Major League's with Kansas City. He made six starts for the Royals last season before an elbow injury in May forced him to have Tommy John Surgery. Duffy is 24 years old.
