Blues catcher Cody Dufrene hit his first two homeruns of the season as the Blues beat Team Vegas, 8-4 on Tuesday night. It was the first of a three games series between the teams at Sinsheimer Stadium. Dufrene, who will be a senior this fall at Nicholls State hit a two run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the fourth. Austin Grisham also had three runs batted in for the Blues who improved to 32-13 for the summer.

The Blues are now 19-9 in the California Collegiate League, a game and a half ahead of Santa Barbara. If the Blues beat Team Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday they will clinch their first ever outright CCL title. They tied for the league crown with Santa Barbara last season.

The Blues moved up in the national rankings on Tuesday morning, going from 11th to 8th in the perfectgame.org rankings.
