Eagles sweep rival Tigers to open Pac 7 title defense

Arroyo Grande High boys volleyball opened defense of its Pac 7 League title with a convincing 3-0 win over rival San Luis Obispo on Thursday night.

The Eagles won 25-13, 25-20 and 25-21 to improve to 6-0 on the season and 1-0 in league.

Jack Empey dished out 25 assists for the Eagles. Chandler Mankins led AG with 6 kills, while Logan Honeycutt and Andrew Midyett had 5 apiece. Kris Kleinsmith led the Eagles with 7 digs.

Trey Davis led the Tigers with 9 kills.

Arroyo Grande returns to action next Wednesday when it welcomes in Los Padres League leading and undefeated Templeton.

The Templeton Eagles blanked Nipomo on Thrusday 25-6, 25-6 and 25-14 to improve to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league.
