The Santa Maria Police Department says a man was stabbed in the city early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 2:17 a.m. in the 300 block of South Thornburg Street.
Officers say the victim, a man in his 30s, was stabbed in the torso.
They say he was standing outside a home when the stabber approached him and attacked him.
The stabber is described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 30-years-old, around 5'8'' with dark hair, dark eyes, and a little facial hair.
He was last seen wearing a dark hat, light colored sweat shirt, and dark jeans.
Police say the victim's injuries were not life threatening and he refused medical treatment.
The incident is under investigation.
