SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - A 19-year-old East Palo Alto man police say was driving a stolen car and tried to escape arrest by hitting an agent with a San Mateo County vehicle theft task force and rammed a car carrying other agents remains in custody after being charged with nine felony counts.
The San Jose Mercury News reports (http://bit.ly/LSaQQP ) that Tywaun Livingston pleaded not guilty Wednesday to five counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer as well as not guilty to hit and run and other charges.
Prosecutors say Livingston was driving in East Palo Alto Monday afternoon when the agents tried to arrest him by boxing in the car he was driving.
Livingston allegedly hit an agent who was on foot, rammed the car carrying the agents and tried to run down another officer who was on foot.
Livingston is being held in lieu of $385,000 bail.
