Eight people are in jail after Santa Maria Police say they stole four cars.
Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Santa Maria Police received an alert on their LOJACK system and began to follow the signal.
Officers say they found a stolen car parked at the Motel 6 in the 2400 block of North Preisker in Santa Maria.
They found three more vehicles during the course of their investigation.
Police say the stolen cars are linked to other residential burglaries in San Luis Obispo County.
The recovered vehicles are a 2004 BMW 325I, 2003 Toyota Tundra, 2008 Ford Escape, and 1999 Mercedes.
A 17 year old female was arrested, but her name cannot be released.
42 year old Amey Samuels of Santa Maria was booked for auto theft, 42 year old Toni Chavez of Santa Maria released to probation, 24 year old Salvador Mendoza of Santa Maria cited for drug paraphernalia, 35 year old Charmain Montoya of Santa Maria booked for violation of parole, 21 year old Antonio Munoz of Santa Maria booked for false information, 27 year old Katrina Baldivia of Santa Maria booked for violation of patrole, and 36 year old Teddy Ramirez of Santa Maria booked for possession of a controlled substaince.
The investigation is on-going.
