The Red Cross was called in to help eight people displaced by a fire Tuesday in Lompoc.
Fire officials say it started at around 1:40 pm at a duplex in the 800 block of East Airport Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they found one unit of the duplex in flames, but they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the other unit.
One firefighter suffered minor burns while fighting the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
