Electronic brain stimulation could treat memory loss

An experimental procedure that electrically stimulates the brain could one day treat memory loss from stroke, Alzheimer's, or trauma.

Scientists were able to improve the function of the memory-related hippocampus by sending magnetic pulses into a part of the brain closer to the skull.

After three treatments, study volunteers had improved connectivity in memory regions of the brain and were able to learn new information more easily.

More studies are needed.
