Emergency preparedness expo in San Luis Obispo

PG&E and the American Red Cross are teaming up to bring a disaster preparedness expo to San Luis Obispo Saturday.

The expo goes from 10 to two at the San Luis Obispo Elk's Lodge.

People can learn about the resources available in the event of a disaster.

The event will have vendors and seminars going on throughout the day.

"We're doing it because it's really important for the average person to be prepared. And if you're not prepared in the event of a large scale disaster, then you're actually part of the problem," said event promoter John Riley.

The first 500 visitors at the expo get a free bag with literature and the basics needed to survive a disaster.
