The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services will test the county's Early Warning System sirens on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3.
There are 131 sirens throughout the county. They will be tested for a few seconds each.
Emergency officials say it is only a test and the public does not need to take action.
The Early Warning System sirens were installed as part of a requirement to operate the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, but they can be used for any major local emergency.
The sirens cover an area from Cayucos to the Nipomo Mesa.
