Jack Empey scored three second half goals to delivers an 11-6 win for the Arroyo Grande High boys water polo team over rival San Luis Obispo on Tuesday.
The Eagles, who are ranked #5 in CIF's Division 4, improved to 16-7 on the season and 5-1 in Pac 7 play. The Tigers lost their second-straight league game to fall to 4-2 in Pac 7 action. AG finished 5-1 in league and wrapped up the #2 seed for next week's League Tournament. Defending league champion Righetti is the #1 seed and the top-ranked team this week in Division 4.
Empey, a junior, led the Eagles with 4 goals, while junior Brock Johnson added 3 goals and Taylor Ross scored twice.
Goalie Chandler Mankins made 12 saves for the Eagles in the cage.
Kyle Sweasey and Nick Eaton led the Tigers with two goals each. Ben Gaines recorded 7 saves for the Tigers in goal.
The Pac 7 Tournament starts next Wednesday with the finals on Friday, November 2.
