The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County raised about $30,000 at its Empty Bowls event on Wednesday.
During the 9th annual fundraiser, attendees enjoyed gourmet soup and bread in a unique, handcrafted ceramic bowl, which they got to keep.
Money raised from the event helps the Foodbank address hunger and provide food to thousands of people in the Lompoc Valley.
Foodbank officials say the money raised on Monday accounts for about 12% of what it costs them to provide food to the community of Lompoc for a year.
