The high pressure system and warming trend will continue through Wednesday. A low pressure system will bring much cooler temperatures to the area with a small chance of rain showers on Thursday. The cooling trend will continue through the weekend.
The big changes on Thursday happen as a trough comes into California and drops the ridge that has kept us warm for 40 consecutive days. Offshore winds turn onshore again. Lots of clouds will pour into the area. Max temps will tumble 8 to 16 degrees. A slight chance of rain will develop across most of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara county.
I don't think much comes of it, less than .15" and in most cases less than .05". The system dies Friday morning and the cool weather lingers into the weekend.
There are a few other weak systems further down the road but at this moment there are no signs of a the real soaker we desperately need.
