Some people in Nipomo took advantage of the nice weather Sunday, and did something good for the environment at the same time.

Volunteers with Ride Nipomo grabbed a bag and leant a hand to clean up and haul away waste in the Trilogy area.

An organizer says dumping has been a problem in that area for the last 30 years, and although the weather was nice, what the volunteers find is not always pleasant.

"We've found dog carcasses, cow carcasses, we found a little bit of everything," said Cherie Dodds of Ride Nipomo.

For their help volunteers were given raffle prizes and a snack at the Monarch Dunes Butterfly Grill.
