Evacuations underway in Lompoc because of fire

Evacuations are underway in Lompoc because of a brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon.

People living in the area bordered by the city limits to the south, Olive to the north, E to the east, and L to the west have been told to evacuate.

City officials say the Dick DeWees Community Center has been set up as a temporary relocation center.

The fire has burned approximately 50 acres and was spreading.
