Mary Kate Evans scored 13 points in a dominant first quarter to help the Greyhounds build a commanding 14 point lead they never relinquished. The Atascadero girls basketball team routed Lompoc 62-26 during the opening day at the Perry Ford Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, who finished runner-up at their own tournament last weekend, improved to 3-1 overall. Lompoc fell to 3-2.

The Cal Poly-bound Evans finished with a game-high 17 points.

Atascadero returns to action on Thursday against Frontier at 3:30 pm at San Luis Obispo High.

Also on Friday, Paso Robles lost to Centennial 40-26. Molly Donovan led the Bearcats with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
