Event benefits local students

Community members are taking to the streets to benefit students in San Luis Obispo.
The Run for Music was held at Cal Poly Sunday morning.
The Kappa Kappa Psi national honorary band fraternity put on the event, which featured a 5K and 10K fun run.
Christina Boeryd, a member of the Cal Poly Wind Band, says, "I think it's important to raise money for band and music because that's what's getting cut from the state budget."
Proceeds will benefit the fraternity, music programs at San Luis Obispo schools and help the Cal Poly band take a trip to Europe.
