A fundraiser was held at the Village at Sydney Creek on Sunday to benefit the Central Coast Alzheimer's Association.
They were hoping to raise more than $2,000 to help bring additional awareness to the disease and to support local caregivers.
Sunday's event included a wine lounge, raffle, and a concert by local band Café Musique.
Organizers say there are more than 7,000 people diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in San Luis Obispo County.
They say it is the second disease that people fear the most.
The 2012 Walk to end Alzheimer's will take place on Oct. 20 at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo.
The Village at Sydney Creek is a memory care community that serves Central Coast residents with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementias.
