Some local children are getting a helping hand to brighten up their holidays.
"A Day of Giving" was held on Saturday at Plymouth Congregational Church in Paso Robles.
The event is put on by the Toy Bank of Greater Paso Robles, Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids and The Salvation Army.
Organizers say close to 1,400 children from 600 families received many toys, and even bikes and jackets.
While some of the toys are donated by the community, the Toy Bank of Greater Paso Robles purchases what is still needed.
Organizers say it takes at least 10,000 hours to organize the event, which is in its 18th year.
