SAN DIEGO (AP) - The former Chief Financial Officer of a San Diego technology firm has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $2 million from his employer to finance a luxury lifestyle.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 41-year-old Alfonso Fierro, Jr. entered his plea Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Fierro forged checks and falsified books over a four year span at WSA Distributing. All told, he admitted forging 110 WSA checks, totaling nearly $2.5 million.
Prosecutors say Fierro used the money to buy a nearly $3-million home, several high-end cars, jewelry and trips on private jets.
He's expected back in court May
WSA is a distributor of wireless handsets and phone accessories headquartered in San Diego.
