One local organization wants to put your unwanted e-waste to work.
The Exploration Station in Grover Beach is collecting computers, televisions, monitors, keyboards and just about every other electronic device out there.
Technicians rebuild the computers and donate them to students in the area.
The group then recycles the other items and uses the money to support a variety of children's programs.
"It's a fundraiser and it helps the community," said Roger Feldtmose, volunteer director. "It keeps the electronics out of the landfill and out of ditches and different things like that."
You can drop off your e-waste every Wednesday through Saturday from 12-5.
The center is on the corner of Ramona Avenue and 9th Street.
