FAA and NTSB investigating cause of San Luis Obispo plane crash

The Public Affairs Contact for the Western-Pacific Region of the Federal Aviation Administration confirms a twin-engine Cessna P337H crashed into an unoccupied, parked FedEx truck Monday afternoon.

It happened just around 1 p.m.

Public Affairs Director, Ian Gregor, says the accident was about 1.5 miles northwest of the San Luis Obispo Airport.

Gregor says the pilot of the plane was killed in the accident, but there have not been reports of any ground injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.

Gregor says it sometimes takes months to determine the exact cause of a plane crash.
