Your Facebook friends, who are always updating their statuses, may do it so they won't feel lonely.
Researchers urged a group of college students to post more updates than usual over a week-long period and complete a mood questionnaire at the end of each day.
Compared with other students, the frequent updaters felt less lonely during the week, although their happiness and depression levels were unchanged.
