People continue to run to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

On Tuesday, 19 Marines will be remembered at Vandenberg Air Force Base's "Run to Remember," including Crpl. Joseph Heredia. The Santa Maria man was killed while serving in Iraq in 2004.

Each year, his mother brings 19 family members or friends to hit the track to represent the 18 other service men and women who fought and died with her son in the Third Battalion, Fifth regiment.
