Families can celebrate the New Year early at "Noon" Year's Eve event

For people looking for a more family-oriented New Year's Eve celebration, head to the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum for the "Noon" Year's Eve event.

It starts at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday and runs until 1:00 p.m.

Kids and parents can enjoy an apple juice toast, dance at a live concert, and participate in the big countdown and balloon drop at noon sharp.

It costs $8 to get in, and space fills up fast.
