More than 100 people gathered at a local church Saturday morning to remember the man shot and killed by sheriff's deputies in Orcutt one week ago.
Family members and friends held a memorial service for 52-year-old Kerry Flood at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Orcutt. Flood was shot and killed last Saturday at the Knollwood Village Complex after deputies say he tried to attack them with a cinder block.
The family says it is "utterly devastated by the tragic event." The two deputies have been placed on paid leave while the investigation continues.
