It was an evening of food, music and family fun in Avila Beach Thursday, all to honor Central Coast foster parents.

The Family Care Network held its Annual Foster Parent Appreciation event at the Avila Valley Barn.

Organizers wanted to provide a night of relaxation and fun for foster parents who work hard each day to better the lives of their foster children. "Foster families provide them with something they haven't had a lot of times. And that is stable, caring, safe homes," said Jim Roberts, Director of The Family Care Network.

Children throughout San Luis Obispo County are in need of local families to provide safe, loving temporary homes. To learn how you can help, click here.
