Fatal drug overdoses in the U.S. are on the rise for the 11th year in a row.
That's according to a new report from the National Center for Health Statistics, which reveals more than 38,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2010.
More than half of these fatalities involved prescription drugs, mostly painkillers, and three-quarters of prescription drug deaths were accidental.
Experts say over the last 10 years, prescription drug deaths have outnumbered those from heroin and cocaine combined.
