FDA warns against eating South Korean shellfish

The Food and Drug Administration is warning people to avoid shellfish from South Korea.

The announcement came after the FDA determined the Korean Shellfish Sanitation Program no longer meets adequate sanitation controls.

The decision to remove the shellfish came after several outbreaks of norovirus in the northwestern part of the country late last year.

The FDA is in discussions with South Korean authorities to fix the problem and will announce when the ban is over.
