NEW YORK (AP) - A 21-year-old Bangladesh native accused of trying to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in New York is expected to plead guilty today to charges stemming from the plot.

Quazi Nafis was charged in October after an FBI sting.

Investigators say Nafis selected his target, drove a van loaded with 1,000 pounds of dummy explosives to the door of the bank and tried to set off the bomb from a hotel room using a cellphone he thought had been rigged as a detonator. But it was all fake. It was an undercover sting operation by federal authorities.

His family in Dhaka said he was incapable of such actions and came to America only to study.
