Final Asiana survivor released from hospital

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The final survivor of the Asiana Airliner crash at San Francisco International Airport has left the hospital after 15 weeks and 30 surgeries to recover from critical wounds she received during the commercial air disaster this summer.

San Francisco General Hospital spokeswoman Rachael Kagan said Wednesday that the patient, whose family has asked that her name not be released, was moved to a rehabilitation center Tuesday.

Surgeon Dr. Margaret Knudson performed 21 of the surgeries, and says she was one of the sickest patients she ever cared for. Knudson says the medical team "breathed a big sigh of relief" that she made it.

In all, 304 of the 307 people aboard the plane were injured in the July 6 crash when the airliner clipped a seawall short of the runway. Three people died.
