The Lompoc Planning Commission is expected to decide whether to approve the Walmart expansion. The retail giant plans to add about 41,000 square feet to its existing store. The city says it would bring about 85 full and part-time jobs. The city reviewed an urban case study and found only the Vons on West Ocean.

If approved, the expansion would start some time next year.
