SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) - A fire that burned about 50 acres near a Central Coast horse training facility has been fully contained.
The Santa Maria Times reports (http://bit.ly/ZwXLBG) firefighters, assisted by four air tankers, had the fire near Rock Front Ranch surrounded within four hours Saturday.
The ranch, about 25 miles inland from Santa Maria, is bordered by the Los Padres National Forest wilderness. Forest spokesman Andrew Madsen said the burned area was not accessible to firefighters on the ground, so officials called in the air tankers to corral it.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
