Fire damages Santa Maria home

A small fire broke out in a Santa Maria home late Sunday night.
It happened just before 11:30 PM at a two-story home on West Ballestral.
Santa Maria Fire Department officials say the fire was located inside a wall behind the fireplace.
Crews had to break through an exterior wall to extinguish the flames.
Damage is estimated at $15,000.
