Fire information phone line set up for people wanting information on Toro Creek Fire

CAL FIRE has set up a fire information phone line for people who want to know more about the Toro Creek Fire.

The number is (805) 543-2444.

CAL FIRE says the Toro Creek Fire has burned 60 acres, and it is 25% contained.

Twelve homes were evacuated, and smoke can be seen throughout the north county. Toro Creek Road at Summit Road, north of Highway 41, is closed to all non-emergency traffic.

People driving on Highway 41 East should expect to see a lot of emergency vehicles.

About 200 firefighters are attacking the fire from the air and the ground.

CAL FIRE, the United States Forest Service, Atascadero City Fire, San Luis Obispo City Fire, Templeton Fire, Morro Bay Fire, and Cayucos Fire Departments are helping fight the fire. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol are also assisting in the area.
