Cal Fire says the blaze burning near Nacimiento Lake Drive and Dragon's Breath Place in rural Paso Robles has grown to more than 200 acres.
We're told crews are making good progress on the fire, although no containment estimate is currently available. The fire is threatening structures nearby. People as far as three miles away have reported an orange glow in the sky and ash in the air.
"It was very impressive, I mean I've never seen anything like that out here and it just lit up the whole sky and the flames probably were shooting up ten, fifteen feet into the air and it was just a ring of fire going around the whole valley," said Garrett St. John, who lives in the Heritage Ranch area.
The cause is still under investigation. Stay with ksby.com and tune in at 10 and 11 for the latest on this story.
