High fire season began today in Santa Barbara County. There is some hope our late rains will help limit wildfires this year, but fire crews have some advice on how to protect your home.
"People are having to cut their grass maybe two or three times this year because the grass will dry out, get brown and then we'll have a rain and maybe a couple weeks later, we'll have 18 inches of grass on the ground," said Captain David Sadecki with Santa Barbara County Fire.
The last major wildfire in Santa Barbara County was two years ago.
