The Fire Velo cancer awareness ride is on the Central Coast.
The bicycle ride goes from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Wednesday afternoon the riders rode into Morro Bay before riding from Morro Bay to Lompoc on Thursday.
Thursday night, the Lompoc Fire Department is hosting the riders for dinner and a presentation about cancer among firefighters.
KSBY News met up with some of the riders early Thursday morning as they left Morro Bay.
Cindy Ell, with the Firefighter Cancer Foundation, says, "We have two special riders here with us on this trip. One is a retired firefighter and arson investigator from Oceano... amazing woman named Tracy Ferguson, who's a tremendous inspiration to everyone on the ride, this is her first year riding, and she's about a year post-treatment."
The ride helps raise awareness of the increased incidents of cancer in the fire service.
It also raises money to help firefighters and their families in need.
