Firefighters are helping locals be prepared, so they can protect their homes from wildfires.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is holding two Wildfire Preparedness Workshops.
Fire officials say homeowners need to take responsibility for their safety if they live in a high-risk area. Both workshops will be held on Saturday, April 24.
The first will be at La Colina Junior High School in Santa Barbara, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The second will be held at Wake Center in Goleta from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
