The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is trying to figure out what sparked three separate spot fires in Santa Maria Saturday.
It happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters say two fires were burning in the area of Highway 101 and Highway 135, and a third fire was burning off Highway 101 at Palmer Road.
The first two fires burned about a quarter of an acre, and the third fire burned an eighth of an acre.
Firefighters were able to contain all three fires quickly.
