Firefighters responding to vegetation fire on Camp Roberts property

Camp Roberts Fire Departments says firefighters are battling a vegetation fire that broke out on the property this afternoon.

Dispatchers were not certain how many acres the fire had spread, but two aircraft are on standby to help battle flames if needed.

The fire broke out off Mahoney Road, which is off San Marcos Road around 1:40 p.m. Dispatchers tell us the fire was not part of a controlled burn that firefighters had been working on two days before.
