There's a new restaurant on tap in Paso Robles and you can get a taste starting March 12.
Firestone Walker Brewing Company already has quite the following among beer drinkers at it's brewery on Ramada Drive. But now, visitors can indulge in gastro-pub fare like pizza and burgers with local produce, and local seafood when available, just across the street.
In addition to plenty of Firestone beer, you can also get a glass of wine from the all-local wine list.
"Primarily, we're a local brewery," said Co-founder David Walker. "We sell most of our beer within 100 miles of this brewery, so we want locals to come here, people who are going to want to drink the beer fresh."
Walker and his partner, Adam Firestone, say they feel right at home in wine country. The brewery and now restaurant are nestled right off the Highway 101 and Highway 46 interchange, a popular stretch for wine tourists.
"If you ask any wine maker how you make great wine, it takes a lot of good beer to make great wine, they'll say," said Firestone. "And I grew up in the wine industry myself, and we used to drink a lot of beer in harvest, so it's a natural fit to be amongst our friends."
The restaurant plays up the brewery theme, with stainless steel, wood barrels and even a bottling line above the bar.
Starting March 12, it's open from 4:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., and menu items range from $12 to $21.
