The first death in Santa Barbara County related to the flu has been reported this season.
The Public Health Department confirmed that an 80-year-old woman died on Tuesday. One of the causes listed was influenza.
The Public Health Department wants to remind people it's not too late to get a flu shots. The shots take about two weeks to have an impact on the body and covers the main strain of influenza that is going around this year.
