The first of two community meetings to get citizen input to help choose a new Santa Maria Chief of Police is set for 6:30 Monday night.

The forum will be held at Santa Maria City Hall.

A second meeting, in Spanish, is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30p.m. at the Veterans' Memorial Community Center. It is located at 313 West Tunnell Street in Santa Maria.

If you can't make one of the two forums, you can share your input in an on line city survey at www.ci.santa-maria.ca.us.

The deadline for the nationwide search to replace Interim Chief of Police Ralph Martin is November 14th. Martin took over as interim chief when Danny Macagni retired in August.
