The first place Cal Poly women's basketball team starts a two game road trip Thursday night at the University of Hawaii. The Mustangs are riding a four game winning streak and are 4-1 in Big West play and 10-6 for the season.
Cal Poly is coming off a dominant 65-47 home win over rival UCSB. Kayla Griffin poured in a career-high with 21 points to go with 4 steals and 5 assists. RIghetti High graduate Molly Schlemer continued her strong play with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Ariana Elegado leads the Mustangs overall with 12.6 points per game.
Hawaii is 4-2 in conference and 8-9 for the year. Kamilah Martin leads the Rainbow Wahine by averaging 16 points and almost 10 rebounds per game.
Tip off Thursday is at 9:00 p.m. California time. Hawaii has won all three meetings with Cal Poly, though this will be their first game since 1982.
Cal Poly plays at Cal State Northridge on Saturday at 4pm.
