Cal Poly's Wine and Viticulture Program got a nice financial boost thanks to a first time wine festival this past November.
The Paso Garagiste Festival was a celebration of the smaller wineries in the Paso Robles wine-growing region. The idea was to highlight some of the great wines coming from smaller producers locally.
Garagiste Festival co-founders Stewart McLennan and Doug Minnick presented a check for $10,000 to the Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Program at a an appreciation event for participating festival winemakers, sponsors and volunteers this past weekend. The donation will go towards furthering Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Program. "We are so grateful to Paso Garagiste for this donation," said Adam Jarman, Interim Assistant Dean at Cal Poly who, along with Cal Poly student winemakers, accepted the check from Paso Garagiste Co-founders Stewart McLennan and Doug Minnick.
Paso Garagiste also announced that the 2012 Garagiste Festival will return in 2012 to Windfall Farms in Paso Robles on November 10.
