The first set of twins born in the new Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria went home on Friday.
Zoe and Hudson Petersen were born a month ago Friday at just thirty-three weeks.
The babies spent the first month of their lives in Marian"s newborn intensive care unit.
"The situation is not what you are expecting but if you are do do it, it was a great place to be. We felt we were right there along with their doctor," said the babies' father, Jake Petersen of Lompoc.
An average of three thousand babies a year were born at the old Marian hospital. Hospital officials expect the number to go way up in their new facility.
