The Santa Barbara County Fire Department rescued a Fish and Game officer from a car that had driven over a cliff Saturday morning.
It happened just after 5 a.m. in the Miranda Pines area off Highway 166.
Firefighters say a Fish and Game car had fallen 300 feet off the highway. Fish and Game officers were out in the area as part of an official investigation. They had lost communication with the officer, but then they spotted him in the car.
Rescuers used ropes to get the officer up to the road.
According to the fire department, the officer had moderate injuries, but was in stable condition. He was flown to a hospital in Kern County.
